Brian Wickett, photojournalist & humanitarian / non-profit photographer, "What can I do for you?"

The world's great photographers excel at what they do primarily because they are able to express their personal visions through their photography.  I take this a step further by photographing a "vision" to make a difference and to tell the story.  As a photogjournalist - humanitarian photographer, I work with a variety of clients with one thing in common, all are working towards making the world a better place to live.

Some humanitarian photographers communicate their vision via "visions of despair"' people in pain, diseased, starving and dying.  Their assumption somehow seems to be... that this is what the clients and the markets are looking for.  I, however prefer to communicate hope.  I believe in the resilience of the human mankinds determination to triumph over adversity.  Rather than seeking to sell to a news market that demands tragedy and horror, I prefer to contribute to the campaigns of those that want to make a difference by communicating a "vision of hope".

By use of my photographic skills, I can strengthen the messages for funding to those who help the disadvantaged to secure empowerment, restore dignity and a belief in a better tomorrow.

DEVELOPMENT & FUNDING:    My images will directly help your organization to raise money for funding because they are powerful, engaging and positive.  They will inspire within your audience the belief that your work really can and does make a difference.  I focus on hope, not on despair.  What your are able to achieve and not just on what needs to be done.  My images can also make a strong and lasting contribution to education and awareness campaigns, because they speak directly to those that see them and engage with them on a very human level.  I always strive to connect with my subjects as an equal, which allows me to tear barriers down and in turn ensures that those who see my images feel similarly connected.
